State of Heritage Report 2025: From Community Voices to Action

Description

Starting in 2023, an Advisory Task Force composed of members of equity-deserving communities undertook research and engaged communities to rethink the role of heritage in city-building.

Released on March 31, 2025, the State of Heritage Report is the result of this work and provides 15 recommendations to all Torontonians and City Council on several issues, including decolonizing heritage practices, improving funding for equity-deserving groups, and fostering deeper collaboration across sectors.
