Description

Old City Hall’s ornate and imposing architecture would stand in stark contrast to the clean lines and curved concrete of the New City Hall. As Toronto embraced modernist design in its civic buildings, the fate of the “Victorian pile” that had served its role for more than half a century was thrown into uncertainty.
