Description

This photograph from 1952 shows the Sackville Street Public School now known as the Inglenook Community School. Captured from Eastern Avenue, it shows the front lawn where the Lucie and Thornton Blackburn site is now located. Taken three decades before the archaeological dig that took place here in 1985 led by Dr. Karolyn Smardz Frost, all anyone would have seen was an empty patch of grass without having any idea of the historical significance lying just below the surface.
